About us
The International Women’s Club Porto Alegre welcomes women from Porto Alegre, from across Brazil and from around the world, so that everyone feels at home in her new surroundings. Most of our members are Brazilian, joined by members from China, Belgium, Argentina and the USA.
We meet every month, sometimes at cultural events, sometimes in members’ homes. Since our founding we have supported children in need: we provide meals and school materials for 90 children in an after-school project at the ACASA institution, and several members act as “Godmothers” to children who need extra care.
Every Saturday our Rango Solidário project serves about 200 meals to people living on the streets. Our club led the WCI International Conference in 2010, and in 2019 we hosted the National Meeting of Brazilian International Women’s Clubs, with about 150 women from 15 clubs.
What we do

- Collecting bottle caps and blister packs for charity and eco-construction
- Monthly cultural outings and lunches in members’ homes
