About us

The International Women’s Club of Israel was founded in 1969 by local women together with wives of ambassadors stationed in Israel, among them the wives of the U.S. and Canadian ambassadors. We promote friendship and understanding between the women of the foreign community and Israeli women through social, cultural and educational activities. The club has no religious or political affiliations.

We aim for an equal number of foreign and Israeli members, so our size follows the number of international women posted to Israel each year. There is an activity almost every weekday, mostly in members’ homes around Tel Aviv, and a monthly newsletter lists them all.

Every year a new president is elected, alternating between an international member, often an ambassador’s wife, and an Israeli. One of our most loved programs is “Meet My Country”, where a country presents its culture, customs and food, usually at an ambassador’s residence.

What we do

  • “Meet My Country” at ambassadors’ residences
  • Outings throughout Israel
  • Archaeology at Tel Aviv University
  • Book, Bridge, Music and Food & Wine groups
  • Conversation in Hebrew, English, French and Spanish
  • Folk dancing, arts and crafts, walking tours
